Not necessarily for real off-road use. Riding off-road means frequent changes in gears, speed, cadence…. When the steps are too close, this leads to multiple shifts. The fewer shifts you make, the more you pedal. We have found that our current gear steps are ideal for MTB use, and this is proven by our domination in all forms of off-road racing in every discipline, at every level.
